ANA EDO CONGRATULATES CHRIS GONOH FOR WINNING THE 2020 EDITION OF THE IKEOGU POETRY PRIZE.
The Association of Nigerian Authors, Edo State Chapter has congratulated Master Chris Gonoh who competed and won the first prize of the Ikeogu Poetry Competition.
This was contained in a press statement issued by Chibueze Okorie, the current ANA Edo Public Relations Officer.
The funfair event which witnessed the gathering of highly celebrated writers in Edo State to honour a rising star of Edo State origin, which held on Friday 22nd January, 2021 at the Galaxy Hotel Benin City.
Master Chris Gonoh who hails from Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State and a student of Afokpella Senior Secondary School threw his hat on the ring to win the inaugural poetry prize with his ten-lines poem titled THE HORROR.
Reacting to the good news, ANA Edo Chairman, Mr. Oviawe Edward who issued the Prize certificate and cash reward to the winner on behalf of the National President of ANA Mr. Camillus Ukah went ahead to appraise the winner and commended the 17years old who began his writing career at the age 11 for making Edo State proud. The Edo State Chapter also decorated the winner with her customized t-shirt.
Finally, other members of the association took turn to felicitate with the winner and further offered him pieces of advice that will help him succeed better in his literary profession. The winner thanked his benefactor and appreciated the efforts of the association for facilitating the prize.
