HOSTING ANA PRESIDENTS, PAST AND PRESENT BY FEMI ADESINA
It was a great privilege to host the immediate past, and the current presidents of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) at State House, Abuja, Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Mr Denja Abdullahi came with his successor, Mr Camilus Ukah, and another writer, Ms Salamatu Sule.
We spoke about writing, governance, the forthcoming 40th Anniversary of ANA, and many other things. Like Mr Abdullahi said, “Writers are in eternal romance with this nation. They are great Ambassadors of our country. They believe Nigeria is a great country, and the future is bright.”
The 40th Anniversary of ANA later in the year, the delegation said, will be a 10-city event round the country, “which will promote resilience of Nigerian writing and literature.”
Of course, when writers visit you, they bless you with books and books, one of which is a Festschrift in honour of Denja Abdullahi titled ‘Of Foot Soldiers and Hybrid Visions.’
