ANA HOLDS 2021 EDITION OF AUTHORS’ GROOVE JULY 29

 The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Lagos State Chapter, on behalf of the National Executive Council of ANA, will host a literary and reading event for writers called Authors’ Groove during the Nigerian International Book Fair holding on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Function Room D, Hall B. The theme for this year Authors' Groove is “Women at the Centre Stage: the Nigerian Stories".

Guest Speakers expected at the event include: Mabel Segun, Akachi Adimira-Ezeigbo, Lola Akande, Betty Ige, Sarah Rotimi, Edozie Udeze, C.M. Okonkwo, Kunnu Taiwo and Micheal Abiodun.

The programmme will be anchored by Olatunbosun Taofeek, a former National Publicity Secretary (South) of the Association.

The book fair organized by Nigeria Book Fair Trust of which ANA is a Council member and one of the constituent bodies will also have ANA maintaining an exhibition stand throughout the duration of the fair (July. 26th - 29th, 2021.) where it will hold a daily literary clinic for the benefit of aspiring authors and members. The event promises to be an avenue for book exhibition, reading and networking. ANA members in and around Lagos are enjoined to attend the Authors' Groove and be at the fair ground.

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has set aside 29th July, 2021 for its annual Authors’ Groove event. The educative event will be hosting one of ANA’s living Trustee Members, Mabel Segun. It will also be hosting the current Chairperson of the Advisory Board for the Nigeria Prize for Literature, Prof. Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo, others like, Lola Akande, Betty Ige, Sarah Rotimi, Edozie Udeze, C.M. Okonkwo,  Kunnu Taiwo and Micheal Abiodun as Guest Speakers.

ANA Mourns Hyacinth Obunseh

 

ANA MOURNS HYACINTH OBUNSEH

Camillus Ukah, President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the former National Secretary of the Association, Hyacinth Obunseh, saying that ANA has lost a very vibrant, dynamic and excellent literary administrator.

 

Mr.  Obunseh, the CEO of Hybun Publishers, was ANA secretary between 2009 and 2011, having served in the association in various capacities before then.

 

A statement signed by the Association’s PRO North, Umar Yogiza Jr. described Obunseh’s death as devastating and unfortunate.

 

Condoling with Obunseh’s family, friends and colleagues, ANA President, Camillus Ukah described Obunseh’s death as a huge loss to ANA given his steadfastness, devoted contributions, and zeal in fighting for the unity, stability, and development of ANA in recent years. ANA President Prayed to God to forgive the deceased his sins and other shortcomings and rest him in paradise, as well as give the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss. He also urged them to take solace in the fact that all living souls must taste death, regardless of the years of existence.

 

In further extolling the virtues of the late Hyacinth Obunseh, ANA President urged ANA members to borrow a leaf from the late former ANA scribe by showing total love and commitment to their professional calling and the apex body of writers in the country.

 

Also, the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Promoters in Nigeria has commiserated with ANA over Obunseh’s death.

 

The Network in a statement by its President, Richard Mammah who was also a classmate with the deceased at the Government College Ughelli described Obunseh’s death as a rude shock and also prayed to God to forgive him his sins and other shortcomings and rest him in paradise.

ANA Osun releases guidelines, nomination forms ahead of Saturday elections

 

ANA OSUN RELEASES GUIDELINES, NOMINATION FORMS AHEAD OF SATURDAY ELECTIONS

 


The Osun State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has released guidelines and a schedule of activities for the conduct of its state election ahead of Saturday elections.

Chairman of ANA Osun Electoral Committee, Dr. Olaolu Olugbenga announced the release of electoral guidelines and collection of nomination forms in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement said aspirants who wanted to contest in the election should visit ANA Osun Secretariat at T.M. Aluko House, Unique Success Academy Annex, Behind WAEC Office, 2 Uncle K Street, Akinlade, Alekuwodo, Osogbo for collection of nomination forms (Form A1 and A2).

The electoral committee directed that completed forms must be submitted not later than July 23.

According to the release, the offices to be contested for in line with the Article 9 of the constitution of ANA include: Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Publicity Secretary, Legal Adviser, Internal Auditor and 2 Ex-Officio members.
