ANA Congratulates Charles Iornumbe on his appointment as DG, Radio Benue

 

ANA CONGRATULATES CHARLES IORNUMBE ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS DG, RADIO BENUE

 The National President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Camillus Ukah has congratulated Dr. Charles Iornumbe on his appointment as Director General, Radio Benue.

 

ANA President gave his congratulatory message in a statement made available to newsmen by the National Publicity Secretary (South) of the Association.

 

The message partly reads, “ANA heartily congratulate you on your appointment as DG, Radio Benue. With your diverse and robust experience in broadcasting, journalism and creative writing, we are sure you will bring a fresh perspective to the Gov. Samuel Ortom’s quest to move Radio Benue to the next level.”

 

“This unique appointment glaringly shows the confidence that Gov. Samuel Ortom and the people of Benue State have in your ability and capacity to perform, as exemplified by your excellent performance during your tenure as the Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Benue State Chapter.”

 

“Your appointment is a befitting development that is rooted in dedication, loyalty and exemplary service.”

 

The statement added that Dr. Charles Iornumbe is well-deserving of the appointment, as he would bring his wealth of experience from journalism and creative writing to bear in handling matters of state and Radio Benue.”

 

Camillus Ukah finally commended Gov. Samuel Ortom for the appointment while expressing hope that he will find more ANA members worthy of more appointments.

 

Dr Iornumbe is a broadcast journalist, researcher, creative writer, teacher, cultural enthusiast and academic. He has worked with Radio Benue Corporation, Makurdi for over a decade and risen through the ranks. He also had a stint with Radio Nigeria Globe FM, Bauchi, Bauchi state.

 

He has served as the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Benue state chapter, between 2016 – 2019. Due to his outstanding contribution to the growth of literary creativity in Benue, the National Executive council of ANA voted him as its Ex-Officio One.

 

Some of his essays, commentaries, literary works and academic articles have been published in well established journals, local and national dailies, as well as anthologies. Positive Reporting and Disaster Management is one of his books.

 

Iornumbe holds a doctorate degree in Linguistics with special interest in Stylistics, Communication and Semiotics.

 

He hails from Mbaakpur, Shangev-Tiev in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue state, Nigeria.

 

He is happily married with children. His hobbies include listening to reggae music, folk songs, reading, carrying out house chores and watching wrestling.

 

Until his appointment, he was the Government House Correspondent for Radio Benue.
