ANA ISSUES COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR DELEGATES DURING 2020 ANA INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

ANA members across the country have been urged to observe the Covid-19 guidelines during the 39th International Convention of the Association which is starting in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State on Thursday, 3rd of December, 2020.

This was contained in a statement written by the current Chairman of ANA Kwara.

The Statement read “In the last one week, we've been receiving calls from different Chapters of the Association such as Abuja, Benue, Nasarawa, Rivers, Delta, Enugu, Anambra and a host of others, with respect to preparation for the coming National Convention which Kwara ANA is privileged to host. Similarly and just yesterday all the way from Ghana, we got a call from the Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), our own erudite, enigmatic and prolific Dr. Wale Okediran asking how far we've gone in preparing for the Programme while also acknowledging the fact that the entire world is indeed experiencing a hard time vis-a-vis the Covid-19 Pandemic. We, therefore assured him of our preparedness, our collective commitment and dedication towards ensuring that the Programme is successful, not minding the global health cum economic challenges pervading our various climes. In view of the foregoing and the need for us to ensure a safe and successful outing, we shall expect members to kindly support us by complying with the following basic guidelines:

1. Delegates must observe ALL established safety protocols whether captured herein or not.

2. The use of face masks at this Convention shall be mandatory for all participating delegates.

3. There shall be designated areas for sanitizing the hands especially at the entrance to the venues of the Programme.

4. There shall be Provision for virtual participation at this Convention so as to accommodate other members outside the locality of the State and Convention.

5. There shall be optimal space management to include projection where necessary with respect to the venues for this Convention. Hence, admission into venues shall be based on first come first serve.
