NIBF: ANA HOLDS 2020 EDITION OF AUTHORS’ GROOVE SEPTEMBER 4

 

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) under the national leadership of Camillus Chima Ukah will host a panel discussion event for writers called Authors’ Groove during the 2020 Nigerian International Book Fair holding on Friday, 4th of September, 2020 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM via Zoom application.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the national Publicity Secretary (South) Wole Adedoyin of the Association in Ilesa yesterday.

The theme for this year Authors' Groove is “Creative and other writings during the Covid-19 Pandemic & Afterwards”. It will feature resource persons with a range of artistic interest in poetry, prose, drama, theatre, translation, art administration, academics, and journalism.

The selected Panellists to discuss this theme are: Henry Akubuiro, Anote Ajeluoruo, Ekaete George, Sola Alamutu and Onyekachi Onuoha.

 

The panel is part of the agenda of the leadership of ANA, as envisioned by Mr. Camillus Ukah as part of the Association’s contribution to the 2020 edition of the Nigerian International Book Fair. The Panel discussion will enable the writers' community to converse or interact with how the industry is responding to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis and adjusting to what “the new normal” may look like going forward.

This event is free and open to the public. Taofeek Olatunbosun, a former national Publicity Secretary (South) of the Association will moderate the event. Opening remarks will be made by Mr. Camillus Ukah (ANA President).

Authors’ groove was an integral part of the Nigerian International Book Fair held annually to help improve the standards of creative writing, its members and their works. The objective was to evaluate what situations existed in the creative writing industry and raise awareness regarding what was being done and what needed to be done.

The book fair, organized by the Nigeria Book Fair Trust, of which ANA is a council member and one of the constituent bodies is always an avenue for book exhibition, signing, presentation of awards, cultural activities, reading and networking.

Nigeria International Book Fair is a well-packaged, well-organised, the biggest and the consistent book event in Africa today. NIBF, for short, is an annual book trade and exhibition that creates an effective platform for the stakeholders in the book industry both within and outside Nigeria to network and have business interface for the growth of their respective businesses.
