ANA OYO ELECTS NEW EXCO, LAYONU EMERGES CHAIRMAN
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Oyo State Chapter has elected an eight member executive committee (EXCO) to run the affairs of the Association for two years.
The election took place during ANA Oyo’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was held yesterday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
ANA Oyo Election Organizing Committee headed by Mr. Ayo Opakunbi and with support from his committee members namely: Miss Phil Nwoko (Secretary), Honourable Muda Ganiyu (JP), former commissioner, and Mr. Ekundayo Asifat, reports that Taslim Abiola Layonu emerged the Chairman, while Gabriel Kosiso Okonkwo was elected Secretary.
Other elected officials included, Prince Oyebade Oyedepo as Vice Chairman, Adeogun Olasumbo Comfort as Treasurer, Saka Wasiu Laide as Assistant General Secretary, Akinwande Funmilayo Theresa as Financial Secretary, Oladoyinbo Abiodun Ayoade as Auditor and finally, Fakunle Busayo Ayorinde as Public Relations Officer.
After the swearing in ceremony, Mr Taslim Layonu, a former Secretary of ANA Oyo, restated his commitment to serve ANA and equally expressed his gratitude to members of ANA Oyo for the confidence and trust they have given him by voting him into power. He however promised to run an inclusive administration. The current National Assistant General Secretary of the Association, Elder Freeman Okosun was at the venue of the election to observe and monitor the peaceful election.
Describing the electoral exercise, a former ANA Oyo Chairman, Dr. Solomon Iguanre described the election as free and fair and congratulated the newly elected officials. He further urged the newly elected EXCO to be honest in the discharge of their duties at different capacities.
Also, Mr Ebika Anthony, a former National Publicity Secretary (South) of the Association, lauded contestants’ show of maturity during the exercise and advised the newly elected executive to run an open and transparent administration.
